Why I Practice Medicine

During his clinical training at ESIC Medical College and subsequent junior residency in general medicine, Dr. Reddy frequently cared for patients with diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, obesity, and other chronic conditions that had often progressed after years of fragmented care. Patients would see different doctors, undergo investigations at different laboratories, and receive treatment from multiple providers, yet no one had a complete longitudinal view of their health. Clinical observerships in the United States highlighted the value of more structured outpatient follow-up — not a solved problem there either, but a useful point of contrast. These experiences shaped his conviction that better outcomes often depend not only on the right treatment, but also on continuity of care. That conviction became the foundation for Sapiens’ philosophy of continuous, doctor-led healthcare.
